Our story
I’m Behrooz, the founder of Tokyo Essentials.
Working as a tour leader in Japan gave me the opportunity to discover more than its famous destinations. Everyday shopping became part of the experience—exploring Japanese products and noticing the attention given to their design, presentation, and use.
Tokyo Essentials grew from that connection: a desire to make these discoveries more accessible to customers back home in Canada.
With an MBA background and experience helping travellers explore Japan, I bring both a business perspective and a personal approach to the store. I want customers to feel comfortable asking questions, discovering something new, and choosing what suits them.
